Barco Buys Highend Systems

Barco announces the acquisition of High End Systems, Inc., a global technology provider of automated luminaires, digital lighting and lighting controls. Based in Austin, Texas, High End Systems employs 156 people and is a profitable company with USD 44 million sales in 2007. With the merging of two strong industry players, this acquisition reinforces Barco’s leadership position in the fast converging video and lighting segments. The total value of the transaction is USD 55 million, which implies an EBITDA multiple of around 8 on the past 12 months. The impact on 2008 EPS is estimated to be about neutral due to the required IFRS restatements

The Crown® 135MA and 160MA are high value mixer-amplifiers for commercial audio. They provide 8-ohm and constant-voltage outputs (70V and 100V). Typical uses are paging, background music, and music-on-hold. The 135MA provides 3 inputs (each with a volume control) and a 35W amplifier output. The 160MA provides 4 inputs (each with a volume control) and a 60W amplifier output. Other features include priority muting, voice activated muting, phantom power, and Bass and Treble controls.

Our first week out and Harman Pro hosted the Audio Principles and Applications Seminar in Atlanta and Charlotte with guest speaker Mr. Sam Berkow, the creator of Smarrt Live. Also both the Studer and Crown Trucks were on hand for additional support.
Vision2 Marketing would like to thank all the guys from the Harman Pro Group for there support this first week as well as all the dealers that showed up to help make the event a success. Keep tuned, there will be more to come.

Last Month, Vision2 Marketing made the trip to Northridge, CA; home of Harman Pro and the JBL Factory. We spent three days learning the ins and outs of the systems as well as a good over view of JBL, AKG, and Soundcraft. December 1st we hit the ground running, and with additional support in the office as well as four additional sales guys in the field, were geared up and ready to support you.
